Bits and Pieces - Ramblings about life...

Life...
There are so many meanings to life, so many interpretations...
These are some of my favourites, in writing, in saying and in song...

Life is occupied in both perpetuating itself and in surpassing itself.
If all it does is maintain itself, then living is only not dying.

Simone de Beauvoir

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

William Shakespeare - from As You Like It 2/7

Life's a show
And we all play our parts
And when the music starts
We open up our hearts
Its all right
If some things come out wrong
We’ll sing a happy song
And you can't sing along

Where there's life, there's hope
Every day's a gift
Wishes can, come true
Whistle while, you work
So hard, all day

To be like other girls
To fit in, in this glittering world
Don’t give me songs
Don’t give me songs
Give me something to sing about
I need something to sing about

Life's a song
You don’t get to rehearse
And every single verse
Can make it that much worse
Still my friends don’t know why I ignore
The million things or more
I should be dancing for [...]

Bits and Pieces - Thoughts on Taboos

All throughout times there have been all sort of taboos and as societies and Mankind evolves, so do the taboos change and transform.
But even though they change, the mind of Man does not lose its aversion to them.

There will always be people more open-minded than others, but is it possible that we will always look upon some subjects in a more uncomfortable way than others?

In the old days, for a woman to bare her legs was scandalous but to bare her breasts in low cleavages was harmless. Years later, to show off some leg was just fine but to bare her breasts wasn't.

Homosexuality was present since ancient Greece but not spoken about openly, now we have Gay Pride parades.

And sex... well, it was in the dark, at night, wearing clothes so that man and woman wouldn't see the naked body and now... less is so much more.

But has the prejudice and taboo disappeared? Hardly.

In an era where information is power there are still those who lack knowledge in many themes, especially if related to sexuality. Nowadays, information can help to prevent diseases and unwanted pregnancies but still you have teens getting pregnant and having sex without protection.
These are the health related issues, but what about information to enjoy and enhance the sexual practices?

The other day, a group of friends and I were having a conversation about how sometimes it takes longer for the male partner to reach his climax and I suggested something that besides intensifying the sensations for both man and woman, can help the man to "pick up speed".

First reaction was astonishment...
Next laughter...

My next question was: Have you ever tried it? - Another pause and burst of giggles.
When I explained how it was so easy to do and that it is healthy for the woman to do such, that you can practice it anywhere that no one would ever notice, for example, that I could be doing it at that moment...

Well then, they really laughed and cracked a joke or two about me on the next few days.
I wouldn't expect that kind of reaction on the 21st century, but it does occur.
Later it crossed my mind that maybe what shocked them and triggered that reaction was the comfortable and totally casual way I approached the subject.

Come on!!! There are women that still don't know their own bodies or even what an orgasm is!!!
Did you even know there are two types of female orgasm?

Not to bore you much longer I'll conclude my thoughts.

The more comfortable you are with intimate or sexual subjects will always make other people stare.

Whether it is because you wear daring clothes as a consequence of total acceptance of your body and sexuality or because you express intimacy in public or even when walk hand in hand with your gay partner or even, because your partner is of a different ethnicity. Most of the times people stare or make inappropriate comments because they don't understand, they don't know better or they envy you.
Of course, they can also just be bad people.

Prejudice is our society's poison and it is the first born of taboo...
Get a grip and talk openly about everything you feel like it. Don't know? ask.
You are free to do so. You don't like it?

Well I've got something to say to you if you don't - Sucks to be you! It's time to wake and start living.
I'm going to enjoy myself tonight, are you?

********You're still wondering what I suggested, aren't you?*********

Khira Chronicles - The passion of Frederick

To live the afterlife waiting for her was unbearable but to long for her daughter also was driving him mad. Their resemblance sent shivers down his spine and made his longing even harder to contain.
She had never loved him, she always used him to keep boredom at bay during her mission he now realised...
But the warmth and the passion were real, it must have been.

He laid on his chambers and looked up to the ceiling recalling her intimate touch and their exchange of blood.
The way she soothed him was beyond words...The wet trail of her tongue, the feel of her skin against his...
The sound of her voice and the taste of her...

To have tasted her and to have lost her was too much and now, Khira.
So much like her mother... Much more than she was willing to admit or maybe she didn't know better.
But then again he knew how cold and cruel Eleannor could be and Khira didn't seem the killer vampire her royal blooded mother was...

Khira sounded young, untouched... he felt his own blood boil of just trying imagine if she had any of her mother's skills in the sensual arts.
"I'd love to taste her..." he exclaimed out loud.
"Frederick, did you say anything?"
"My dear Morgan, I was just thinking out loud. Rest my child."

It would be much simpler for him to simply love his child, his Morgan, but to him she was as his own daughter.
Eleannor wanted to simply discard her after torturing and feeding of her, but he couldn't bring himself to simply abandon the poor girl.
"That's only sign of your weakness and why you can not even be my lover outside court, Frederick" She told him before she left the city.

"Zephyr came looking for the newcomer today"
"What did he want?" He turned to face Morgan with fiery eyes and a raging expression.
"He wanted to invite the girl to break her fast with him tomorrow evening." she said with a sigh and shrug.

He would not lose another Bloody Clan woman. If Eleannor was his drug, Khira was his salvation and he would not let go of her so easily... Especially to Zephyr, she would not become just another trophy in his collection.

"Morgan, if someone comes looking for me simply tell them I am hunting..." He paced back and forth restlessly and proceeded "If Khira comes by tell her, I'll get her want she is looking for and to avoid Zephyr."
"Yes, Father" she shrugged while looking hungrily over the balcony to a innocent girl that strolled alone under the moonlight. She licked her fangs and kissed Frederick on the cheek before jumping into the night.

"Time to find an old friend..."

Bits and pieces - Realization

It came to me in the most unexpected way
the realization of something wild and free
the feeling that I no longer have to stay
the feeling that I can...
If it depends on me.
